Garcia Scores Twice for Bonac Boys Soccer
Ariel Garcia scored a pair of goals for the East Hampton boys soccer team (4-1 in League VI, 4-2 overall) in its 6-3 victory at Westhampton Beach on Monday. Juan Salcedo and Jonathan Armijos each scored and had an assist as well. Eduardo Calle had two assists. Matt Moran made eight saves in goal for the Hurricanes (0-6 overall) who were led offensively by Lincoln O’Connell’s hat trick.
East Hampton Boys Golf Bounces Back
After losing the season opener at Westhampton Beach, the Bonackers have rattled off three straight victories, their latest a 9-0 win over William Floyd on Monday.
Bonac Boys Volleyball Defeats Central Islip
The East Hampton boys volleyball team (1-3 overall) picked up its first victory of the season, 3-0, at home over Central Islip on September 10 in set scores of 25-13, 25-14, 25-17.
O’Donnell, Lys Lead East Hampton Field Hockey
Kerri O’Donnell scored a goal and had one assist while Brynly Lys had two assists in the Bonackers (2-2 overall) 5-0 victory at West Babylon on Thursday, September 12.
East Hampton Girls Tennis Starts League Play Strong
A 6-1 victory at Elwood-John Glenn on Monday was the Bonackers fourth straight League IV victory since September 10. East Hampton has improved its overall record to 5-2 in that span.
Beech, Reyes Lead Whalers Boys Soccer
Sebastian Beech and Wilmer Reyes each scored a pair of goals to lead Pierson/Bridgehampton (1-4 overall) to a 5-2 victory over Riverhead Charter at Granny Road Park in Gordon Heights on September 9. Luis Panifiel scored a goal as well and Juan Esteban made 10 saves in goal.
Pierson Boys Golf Has Won Two Matches
The Whalers defeated Center Moriches, 8-1, in their season-opening meet on September 5, and after having lost, 9-0, to East Hampton on their home course of Noyac Golf Club on September 9, they came back with an 8-1 victory over William Floyd at Rock Hill Golf and Country Club on September 11.
Strong Second Half Pushes Whalers Field Hockey
The Pierson/Bridgehampton field hockey team scored all four of its goals in the third and fourth quarters of its 4-1 victory at West Islip on Thursday, September 12. Cali Wilson scored two goals and Ashley Stuckart added another. Sophia Perri made seven saves in goal for the Whalers (2-2 overall).
Calderon Scores Twice for Southampton Girls Soccer
Sabrina Calderon netted a pair of goals in the Mariners 5-1 homecoming nonleague victory over Riverhead on Saturday afternoon. Jillian Swiatocha also scored a goal and had an assist to lead Southampton (1-1 in League VII, 2-2 overall). Ella Liebnitzky and Natalie Glanz split time in goal for Southampton and made two and four saves, respectively. Peyton LaCombe made 17 saves for Riverhead. The Mariners earned their first victory of the season on September 10 when Vivienne Archer scored 10 minutes into the second half leading to a 1-0 decision at home over Miller Place. Liebnitzky made six saves in that game for the shutout.
Southampton Boys Soccer Earns First Victory
The Mariners (1-4 in League VII, 1-5 overall) picked up their first victory of the season, 4-0, over Bayport-Blue Point as part of homecoming weekend on Saturday. Tristan Angel scored his first varsity goal in the victory for Southampton and Nicholas Gonzalez scored two goals. Prior to the win, Southampton had only scored one goal in its first four games to start the season.
Baymen Top Mariners in Boys Soccer
Edie Cabrera scored a goal and assisted on another and Juan Henao and Maciej Lutrzykowski each scored a goal to lead Hampton Bays (2-3 in League VIII, 2-4 overall) to the 3-0 victory on Thursday, September 12. Nick Osorio made five saves in goal for the Baymen for the shutout.
Hampton Bays Girls Volleyball Remains Undefeated
The Baymen have won their first four matches of the season, the latest a 3-0 victory at home over Miller Place on Saturday. Asha Pensa-Johnson had 18 kills and four blocks, Julia Brandes had 20 assists and Madysen Frederiksen added 15 digs. Set scores were 25-12, 25-20, 25-12.
Westhampton Beach Boys Golf Sets Team Course Record
The Hurricanes (4-0 in League VIII) defeated William Floyd, 9-0, on its home course of Westhampton Country Club where it shot a new team course record of 183 on Thursday, September 12. That victory came after having defeated Southampton, 8-1, at home the day prior.
Hurricanes Boys Volleyball Gets Back to Winning Ways
After suffering a 3-1 loss at Half Hollow Hills on September 7, Westhampton Beach defeated host Lindenhurst, 3-0, on September 10 and then defeated Smithtown West, 3-1, at home on Thursday, September 12. The ’Canes (3-1 overall) had lost the first set to Smithtown West, 25-19, but then rattled off three straight set wins 25-20, 25-19, 25-16.
Burke’s 14 Kills Lead Westhampton Beach Girls Volleyball
Katie Burke had 14 kills and 12 digs in a 3-0 victory for the Hurricanes (2-0 in League V, 3-0 overall) at Kings Park on September 11. Karly Pascale had 11 kills and four blocks and Shannon Sweet had 10 kills in the 25-14, 25-22, 25-21 match. Emma O’Camee and Kenzie Gilbride had 18 and 16 assists, respectively, and Ellie Jean Burke led the defense with 16 digs. That victory over the Kingsmen came after another 3-0 victory over another perennial powerhouse over Bayport-Blue Point in the season opener the day prior. Katie Burke had 16 kills and 10 digs in that 25-21, 27-525, 25-19 win while Sweet and Pascale each had 10 kills.
Hurricanes Girls Tennis Winners of Five Straight
The Westhampton Beach girls tennis team defeated Eastport-South Manor, 6-1, at home on Thursday, September 12, to improve to 3-0 in League IV play, 5-1 overall.
