Calle’s Hat Trick Leads to
Bonac Boys Soccer First Win

The East Hampton boys soccer team defeated Huntington, 6-3, at home on October 8 for their first victory of the season. Eduardo Calle scored a hat trick and had an assist, while Esteban Diaz scored two goals and assisted on two others. Bryan Pillco scored the other goal for the Bonackers (1-10-2 overall) and Adrian Arango made five saves in goal.

Defeats Central Islip

The East Hampton boys volleyball team took down Central Islip in three straight sets, 25-17, 25-9, 25-13. The Bonackers are 4-5 overall.

Strong Second Half
for East Hampton Field Hockey

Emily Anderson, Carly Fromm and Brynley Lys each scored in the second half to lead the Bonackers to a 3-0 victory at Babylon on October 7. Anderson, Lys and Cassandra Ceva each had assists. East Hampton is 5-7 overall.

Continues Winning Ways

Amy Torres scored a pair of goals to lead the Bonackers to a 5-0 win at Riverhead on Thursday, October 9. Hailey Benenaula, Emily Hurtado and Elle Reidlinger also scored, and Leah McCarron made four saves in goal for the shutout. East Hampton is undefeated at 11-overall, 9-0 in developmental league play. The Bonackers have outscored their opponents 52-2 this season.

Glanz Scores Game-Winner
for Southampton Field Hockey

Maggie Glanz scored the game-winning goal off an assist from Carlie Kreymborg, who had scored in the first quarter, to lead Southampton (3-8) to a 2-1 victory at West Babylon on Thursday, October 9. Neveahya Bell made four saves in goal for the Mariners who improved to 3-8 overall with the win, two of which have come in their past three games.

Defeats Center Moriches

The Mariners defeated the Red Devils for the second time this year, both by 3-0 scores. The most recent match in Center Moriches on Friday was scored 25-22, 25-20, 25-19. Southampton is 8-3 overall, 4-2 in League VII.

Quiroz Leads Baymen Volleyball
to Third Win

Andrei Quiroz had nine kills, six digs and four service aces to lead the Hampton Bays boys volleyball team to a 3-0 victory at home over Center Moriches on October 7. Angle Munoz had seven kills and seven digs, Charlie Patek had 16 digs and seven aces, Christian Rodriguez recorded 11 assists and Peyton Single finished with 16 digs. The Baymen improved to 3-8 overall in what is their first-ever varsity season.

Strong Week for
Hampton Bays Girls Volleyball

After a hard-fought 3-2 victory at Elwood-John Glenn on October 8, the Baymen picked up a pair of 3-0 victories at Wyandanch on Friday and then at home over Kings Park on Monday. Hampton Bays is 12-4 overall and 10-3 in League VI and have already qualified of the Suffolk County Class A playoffs.

Defeats Northport

In their only match last week, the Westhampton Beach boys volleyball team defeated host Northport, 3-0, on October 7. Set scores were 25-14, 25-17, 25-14. The Hurricanes are 8-1 overall.

Leads to Upset Victory

Damaris Calderon scored with 2 minutes left in the second overtime to lead the Westhampton Bach girls soccer team (1-10-2 overall) to their first victory of the season, 2-1, over rival and playoff-bound Eastport-South Manor. Tierney McEntee scored in the first half for the Hurricanes. Ava Failla made 16 saves. Gia Da Cunha scored and Maeve Gayer made seven saves for the Sharks (8-2-3).

With a strong group of upperclassmen, including seniors Amy Fleming, Ava Lynch and Emily Tedesco and juniors Avery Austin, Veronica Denkewitz, C.J.
